BIG GIVE Letter to the Community

Dear Community Partner,

I’m Meg Temple, Executive Director at CARE House of the Pee Dee. I am writing to tell you about an important annual giving day for Pee Dee nonprofits like CARE House.

On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, CARE House will participate in the Annual Pee Dee Big Give, a day when Pee Dee area residents just like you champion important local causes. Before I share those details, here’s more about me and the important work of CARE House:

I oversee the hard working advocates, interviewers and therapists fighting tirelessly to make an impact in the world of child abuse. During my three years at CARE House, I have experienced a lot of personal and professional growth, including the birth of my youngest son who will be turning two this summer. With two children under age four, life is exciting, as I am sure you can imagine and possibly relate!

Just like at my house, we have a lot of exciting happenings at CARE House of the Pee Dee. Since 2013, we have expanded our therapy program that provides multiple forms of evidence-based treatment. We now provide therapy services in an underserved county to lessen transportation issues and other road barriers to treatment. Last year, our forensic interviewing staff provided interviews to 471 children from the area. Currently, we are partnering with HopeHealth to provide forensic medicals once again in Florence County to keep families from having to travel or wait in order to see a doctor. All of these meaningful programs are happening right here in the communities where you live and work.

On May 3, we challenge you to join CARE House and Eastern Carolina Community Foundation by visiting and clicking on CARE House to contribute. With the click of a button on your mobile device, you can donate as little as $25 or $2,500+ to support our mission. BIG GIVE provides the opportunity for smaller donations to go much further.

You can also follow the campaign at and participate by using our hashtag: #carehouseheroes.

The CARE House team is working every day to make sure that abused children have a voice and a future as bright as the children you know. And we couldn’t do this work without supporters like you who give their time, energy, and resources to stand with us and fight child abuse with us.

Thank you in advance for your support,

Meg Temple
