CAPES For Kids Run, formally known as the Carver C.A.P. Run, is celebrating its 7th annual run on Satursday, April 28th, 2018. This run was started by a Carver Elementary teacher who lost a beloved student in 2011. That student was Tylashia Grant, a 3 year old who died due to physical abuse and neglect. Every year this run is held to honor her life and to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention!
This run includes a 5k, 10k, and Kids Fun Run! CAPES For Kids is hosted at Briggs Elementary in Florence; the 5k & 10k will begin at 8 am & the Kids Fun Run begins at 9:30 am. Superheroes will be making an appearance to meet and greet with kids. CAPES For Kids will include family-friendly activities, as well as a superhero costume contest; so come dressed up as your favorite hero.
