Why we put on our CAPES

CAPES For Kids, formally known as the Carver CAP Run, was started by a Carver Elementary teacher who lost a beloved student in 2011. That student was Tylashia Grant, a 3 year old who died due to physical abuse and neglect. Every year this run is held to honor her life and to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention!

Every year, thousands of child in the United States are subjected to multiple forms of abuse and neglect. We want you to help us fight by putting on your CAPES and making a stand against child abuse!
